Advantages and disadvantages of the motor

Release time:

Jun 07,2023

the angle of rotation of the motor is proportional to the number of pulses;

Advantages

1. the angle of rotation of the motor is proportional to the number of pulses;

2. maximum torque when the motor is stopped (when the winding is magnetized);

3. good positional accuracy and repeatability of motion because the accuracy of each step is between three and five percent and the error of one step does not accumulate to the next;

4. excellent start-stop and reversal response;

5. high reliability due to the absence of brushes, so the life of the motor depends only on the life of the bearings;

6. the response of the motor is only determined by digital input pulses, so open-loop control can be used, which makes the motor structure can be relatively simple and the control cost

7. synchronous rotation at very low speeds is possible by simply connecting the load directly to the motor's shaft.

8. a wide speed range because the speed is proportional to the pulse frequency.

Disadvantages

1. prone to resonance if not properly controlled;

2. Difficult to run to higher speed.

3. Difficult to obtain a large torque

4. No advantage in terms of volume and weight, low energy efficiency.

5. over the load will destroy the synchronization, high-speed work will emit vibration and noise.
